I didn't think the real feel of Gary's story could be captured on film—but this piece comes as close as you can get. A VERY impressive effort by Earl Newton, and I'm looking forward to watching this again.

Just wanted to say publicly how exceptionally pleased I am with Earl's beautiful adaptation of my story - everything about this film works. Walter's score is evocative, the opening scene with the photograph is eerie as hell, and the acting is superb; everyone is excellent right down to the smallest role, but I have to give a big tip of the hat to Laura and Toby; the characters couldn't have been in better hands.

I shall stop raving now. A brilliant job of adapting my story, Earl. Thank you.

This short was well played on three levels: clean story, acting and filming. Someone's gift is taken away in such a way that they have to work to get it back. Layer on top of THAT the idea that even when everything is made perfect (the divine face), more work will be needed was a unique parallel that surprised me.

It was simplicity at its best. I really enjoyed it.

All I can say is "DAMN!!". Great story, acting, production. The simplicity of the production allowed me to focus on the story and characters presented. So many great elements told in such a short time and so clearly...I am speechless. Thanks for putting out better episodes than most networks. I can't wait for the next one!

nice intro graphics and photograph.  The exposition with the drunk is dreadfully long, there was no reason for it.  The soundtrack is very good.  The compression causes a buzz in both systems I listened through when people are not talking.  At the end, the angel should saw his lines like he is confused, with a question at the end.

Having seen all the episodes including Latchkeepers (Cause I WAS THERE) this is easily my favorite. This is the best Neil Gaiman story not written by Neil that I have seen. Such a simple yet epic story which is all about people. Warmth, heart, humor… this has it all. I even cheered at the end. Nice work gang!

Latchkeepers is coming.. and it is AWESOME!
